Thank you for your interest in Walk-in Backrub
On Site Massage Job Opportunities
We are always looking for qualified massage therapists who want to work with us.
In order to work at one of our London shops or be on our corporate massage list, you will need to learn our Japanese style, chair massage routine and techniques so you can fit in with our known and successful brand.
We have a one day chair massage training course which is essential for all massage practitioners that work with us, so we can provide consistency amongst our practitioners and for all Walk-in backrub customers.
Our chair massage routine is a simple, yet very powerful form of seated massage therapy, that has been tried and tested and has proved successful in all our branches and in companies for over 20 years.

When is the next one day chair massage training course?
We usually run the course abour 3 or 4 times per year.

What happens on the Walk-in Backrub Training Day?
You will learn in detail the 10-minute Chair Massage routine, as it is necessary to be able to fit in all the techniques in 10 minutes.
The 20 and 30-minute routines follow the same basic pattern but allow you more time to work more thoroughly and concentrate on specific areas of tension.
We will also show you the best way to use a massage chair.
To work at the Walk-in Back after the training day
To work with us in our shops or visiting our Clients Offices in London you'll need to pass a backrub assessment.
First, you need to practice the techniques and essence of our style of massage that you learnt on the course.
Then you can book in for your assessment.
The Assessment cost is £10
We suggest the assessment takes place after a minimum of 20 practice sessions for the 10-minute routine.
When you are confident with the 10-minute backrub routine, please email us to book an assessment.
The Walk-in Backrub Assessment
At the assessment, you will be asked to demonstrate the 10-minute Backrub that you learnt on the chair massage course.
The assessment is designed to be relaxed and informal, and we just want to see that you have been practising.
Following a successful assessment, and having up to date insurance, you will be ready to start work with us.
The Walk-in Backrub needs to have "cover" practitioners trained and willing to fill gaps caused by people leaving or not being able to work, and newly trained massage therapists are on this cover list.
You will probably be offered "cover" work straight away and as changes occur, regular days will be offered to you.
Equally, you are welcome to just do cover days if that suits you better.
If after the assessment we feel that you are not quite ready to work in one of our shops, we will give you some positive feedback with a little bit of training to go away and practice some more. Then you can come back for another assessment.
We are willing to keep working with you until you're at a good standard that our customers expect.
We want all people working at Walk-in Backrub to be amazing chair massage therapists.
Also, straight after your assessment, you have the option of receiving a private one to one chair massage training session with the assessor for an hour.
The one to one chair massage training is an excellent opportunity to get personal tuition and feedback from an experienced walk-in backrub teacher on any areas of your massage, which may benefit from improvement.
It will also get you to a level quickly, where you are ready to work in the walk-in Backrub shops or working at our corporate client offices.
The Cost for the 1 hour, private one to one chair massage training is £50
If you're interested, then please let us know when booking in for your assessment, then we can book the massage room for the extra time.
Some people like to have their one to one chair massage training just before the assessment to help them feel confident to pass.
